GNMobile / GNMobileTM Publisher's Description

Mode of Operation

Geo++® GNMobile allows to establish the communication between two available and supported hardware interfaces on the terminal equiment. It is designed to run on:

  • mobile phones
  • terminal modems
  • and different micro controllers.

Following hardware interfaces are supported by GNMobile:

  • Modem (GSM/GPRS)
  • Serial ports (RS232)
  • Infrared
  • Bluetooth

In addition GNMobile supports different protocols that can be used on the above hardware interfaces. Beside the low level protocols TCP and UDP this includes especially HTTP and NTRIP.

This allows to run following applications for example:

  • Receive a data Stream from a TCP server in the internet and stream it out to a serial port of a cellular phone
  • Receive some data via bluetooth and deliver it to a TCP server in the internet
  • Receive a connection on the infrared inteface of the cellular phone and connect it with the bluetooth interface.

It is possible to configure all possible connections as bi-directional. The Geo++® GNMobile is specially designed for GPS-RTK applications so it contains some special support for protocols that are used by that type of applications. One of that is the following NTRIP protocol.

NTRIP

Geo++® GNMobile provides special support for NTRIP (Network Transport of RTCM via Internet Protocol). That gives the possibility - in addition to the simple use for data transfer - to show a lot of details about the streams, making the configuration much more conveniant. Thus it is possible to load the source table from a NTRIP caster, filter the mount points by the data formats, and store choosen mount points in an address book

System requirements

Geo++® GNMobile requires some Java™ Applicationen APIs which have to be provides by the mobile device. Normally these are sufficiently supported by most devices from the well known manufacturers, even on older hardware.  The following APIs are required in detail:

  • CLDC 1.0
  • MIDP 2.0 or IMP 2.0

If Bluetooth and other additional functions shall be used, the device must support the following additional APIs:

  • Bluetooth API
  • File Access/Connection API
  • Location API
